Mountain Pacific Opportunity Partners (MPOP) and Mountain Pacific Holdings (MPH), along with their predecessor Mountain Capital Partners (MCP), have invested over $450 Million, capitalizing over $2 Billion of U.S. real estate over the past 6 years. 

Mountain Pacific Opportunity Partners was founded by Brian Shirken, Joan Kramer, and Josh Bloch to provide equity for real estate development with a focus on projects within Opportunity Zones. Mountain Pacific Holdings was subsequently formed with a focus on the capitalization of both value-add and ground up development in primary and secondary markets across the United States. Mountain Pacific's financial backing comes from its principals, individual investors, wealth management professionals, and semi-institutional investors. Along with a strong track record of investment returns, Mountain Pacific's value to investors and developers includes co-investment, transparency, clear reporting, rapid response, decisive and experienced management, and attractive risk-adjusted returns.

Brian Shirken
Partner

Brian Shirken is the co-founder of Mountain Pacific, and its precursor Mountain Capital Partners, and the co-founder of Columbus Pacific where he serves as Principal. He brings over three decades of real estate, finance and investment experience to the company. Prior to founding Columbus Pacific in 1995, he had held numerous senior positions at a Los Angeles based real estate investment and management company and prior to that worked with a national public
accounting firm. Shirken holds a Bachelor’s of Commerce and Accounting degree and an honors graduate degree in Finance and Management Control Systems from the University of Cape Town. Shirken is the former Chair of the Jewish Federation’s Real Estate Division, a General Partner of the Los Angeles Jewish Venture Philanthropy Fund and a Fellow of the Wexner Foundation.
Brian is also actively involved in other product types, such as development of
the Pendry Park City.

Joan Kramer
Partner

 

Joan Kramer is the co-founder of MPOP.  She brings over three decades of real estate investment and structured finance experience across all asset types.  Her experience includes equity and debt origination, distressed loan and asset purchases, real estate restructures, value add asset management and development in the US as well as Europe and Japan. Joan has previously held positions at Kennedy Wilson (US/UK), Merrill Lynch, GE and Heller Financial.  She is currently the Chair of the Chrysalis Board, which is dedicated to creating a pathway to self-sufficiency for homeless and low-income individuals by providing the resources and Support needed to find and retain employment.  Joan lives in Santa Monica Canyon with her husband and daughters.

Josh Bloch
Partner

Josh Bloch is the co-founder of MPH and Mountain Pacific Opportunity Partners. He currently runs investments for Mountain Pacific Holdings and its precursor Mountain Capital Partners. Prior to his current role, Bloch worked on the student housing and retail acquisitions team for Columbus Pacific. His former jobs include working as an Acquisitions Associate at DFS and Acquisitions Analyst at JRK Property Holdings. Bloch holds a bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance from Queens University of Charlotte, where he was recruited on a tennis scholarship from Johannesburg, South Africa. He is also a California Licensed Real Estate Salesperson.

Danny Orland, CPA, CFA 
Partner

Danny Orland has a variety of responsibilities at MPH and Mountain Pacific Opportunity Partners including acquisitions, asset management, and accounting. Danny brings a breadth of experience through his diverse background. Prior to joining MPH, he worked as the Director of Investments for Gelt Inc., a value-add multifamily owner, and prior to that he worked as a consultant at Deloitte in both its real estate audit and valuation practices. Danny holds a BS in Business Administration and a Master of Accounting from the University of Southern California. He is also a licensed CPA in the state of California and is a CFA Charterholder.

Alex Vien 
Acquisitions Manager

Alex Vien is heading MPH’s acquisitions platform. Since joining MPH in 2020, Alex has been heavily involved in underwriting, financial analysis, due diligence, and management of MPH’s pipeline of potential investments. Alex has also been responsible for financial analysis, asset management and accounting for MPH’s existing portfolio of investments. Prior to joining MPH, Alex worked as an Acquisitions Analyst at The Bascom Group, a value-add multifamily sponsor. While at Bascom, Alex underwrote over $4B of multifamily investments, managed due diligence, and performed extensive financial analysis. Alex holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of La Verne and an MBA
from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Andrew Dieckelman 
Portfolio Management

Andrew Dieckelman heads portfolio management overseeing the daily operations of Mountain Pacific assets and optimizing their overall performance Before joining MPH, Andrew served as Director of Portfolio Management at Camber Property Group, where he managed over 6,500 units across New York City and surrounding metro areas. Prior to that, he was Senior Director of Strategy and Operations at Pangea Properties, where he oversaw a Chicago portfolio of more than 11,000 units, managing property operations, leading construction and renovation initiatives, and directing a corporate support team. Throughout his career, Andrew has successfully navigated portfolio growth exceeding 16,000 units with asset values surpassing $2 billion. He holds a degree in Finance from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.

Niv Henn 
Strategy and Operations

Niv Henn has a variety of responsibilities at MPH and Mountain Pacific Opportunity Partners including acquisitions, asset management, strategy, and operations. Prior to joining MPH, Niv was a Program Manager at CloudKitchens, a ghost-kitchen
startup, where he was responsible for launching and managing special projects in the company’s U.S. and LATAM facilities. Prior to CloudKitchens, Niv founded a tech
consulting company in college and served as the Chief Operating Officer overseeing
daily operations and strategic growth.
Niv earned his degree from University of Texas at Austin's Stan Richard's School of
Advertising and Public Policy.

Brandon Fikhman 
Acquisitions Analyst

Brandon Fikhman is responsible for underwriting and evaluating potential acquisition opportunities across the Western United States. He oversees the affordable acquisitions pipeline and plays a key role in due diligence, market research, and deal coordination. Prior to joining MP, Brandon developed expertise in debt investments through his work on Blackstone’s Real Estate Debt Strategies team and gained in-depth knowledge of the development process from his time on the Acquisitions team at APPA Real Estate. Brandon graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, emphasizing Real Estate Finance, from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business.
